Pre Photography Checklist

In todays Real Estate market, nearly all buyers start their home search online. Your property will be on display and looking its best is paramount.

The photographs of your home are the most important part of making a great first impression to potential buyers.

Remove

  • Family Pictures
  • Personalized items
  • Memorabilia
  • Pet food bowls, toys and bedding
  • Pedestal and floor fans
  • Shoes and jackets
  • Magazines

General Items

  • Turn all lights on inside and out
  • All ceiling fans off
  • Replace burned out bulbs and replace with the same color temperature bulb
  • Turn off TV's and electronics
  • Hide visible cords and chargers
  • Vacuum and clean house
  • Straighten pictures, tables, chairs and stools

Outside

  • Mow and trim lawn
  • Pull large weeds
  • Remove cars, trailers and campers from the driveway and away from the front of the home
  • Hide hoses, toys and bikes
  • Hide trash bins (garage)
  • Rake leave and remove fallen branches
  • Remove flags

Pool

  • Hide pool cover, cleaning equipment, toys and inflatables
  • Pool should be clear
  • Remove furniture covers and store
  • Umbrellas up
  • Straighten furniture and chairs

Kitchen

  • Clean off countertops, fruit bowls, plants etc. are ok but avoid anything tall that may block views
  • Minimize small appliances
  • Hide soap, dishes and sponges
  • Remove magnets, pictures and calendars from the refrigerator
  • Hide trash bins
  • Remove child proof locks
  • Organize visible shelves
  • Clean appliances

Bedrooms

  • Make beds, use decorative pillows if available
  • Clean off night stands and dressers
  • Remove cloths from back of doors
  • Clean mirrors
  • Declutter walk in closets
  • Don't hide things under the bed that will be visible in the picture

Bathrooms

  • Clear off vanities
  • Toilet seats down
  • Hide waste baskets, plungers and toilet brushes
  • Remove toiletries and products
  • Color coordinated towels look best
  • Clean mirrors and shower doors
  • Remove floor matts
  • Place a new roll of toilet paper

Laundry Area

  • Organize shelves
  • Nothing on top of the washer/dryer
  • Hide baskets and cloths
